Kaiserslautern, Germany, September 23, 2025 - Empolis, the AI specialist and part of the Proalpha Group, a leading provider of ERP and business applications for SMEs, announces the launch of Empolis Knowledge Forge. This innovative solution, available as part of Empolis Industrial Knowledge, enables organizations to automatically create high-quality, structured knowledge articles from unstructured data such as chat histories, service tickets, production notes or emails.

Knowledge Forge helps companies to fully utilize their unused data assets to build important corporate knowledge. The solution uses Generative AI, such as Large Language Models and other advanced Artificial Intelligence methods from Empolis, to extract relevant information and new knowledge from conversations and reports and put it into clear, easy-to-understand formats. This not only saves valuable time, but also ensures that the collective knowledge of employees and experts is not lost. With the introduction of Knowledge Forge, Empolis is supporting companies in their digital transformation and revolutionizing knowledge management through the use of state-of-the-art AI technologies.

    How Knowledge Forge works:

    • Recognize and explore: AI algorithms analyze large volumes of unstructured text, such as emails, support tickets, chat dialogs and find similar cases.
    • Automated creation: AI is used to analyze these texts in detail and identify the key questions and solutions.
    • Structuring and formatting: The identified information is anonymized and bundled and then automatically converted into a predefined article structure, including title, problem description and solution description.
    • Human-in-the-Loop: The draft created by the AI can be checked by the user, assigned authorizations and automatically translated into other languages if required before it is released for use. This creates reliable and secure knowledge.

Knowledge Forge combines three types of artificial intelligence to enable these processes. Firstly, semantic similarity search methods are used to identify thematically related information from the large volume of raw data. Empolis is the market leader in the industrial application of these methods. In addition, knowledge graphs are used that operate along product models and other structured information in order to process the content not only with statistical probabilities, but also on the basis of verified product knowledge. Finally, language models take on the task of optimally indexing the raw content and transforming it into the desired form of knowledge articles.

"Many companies are sitting on a huge treasure trove of data that is hidden in unstructured formats such as chats, tickets or internal notes," says Andreas Klüter, CEO of Empolis. "Many experienced employees retire and take their knowledge with them. Due to the shortage of skilled workers, knowledge management is becoming a vital success factor in industry. The processing of existing knowledge is one of the biggest challenges in the industry. With Empolis Knowledge Forge, we make this knowledge accessible quickly, easily and automatically using integrated AI processes. This new solution is a decisive step towards preserving the experience of experts and making it usable for the entire company. This not only improves internal processes, but also service for end customers and even opens up new business models."
